Publix Promotions that Can Help You Help The Pantry Without Busting Your Budget

Publix is my favorite store to shop at because the stores are always stocked & clean, the employees are helpful & friendly and the prices are low.  Yes, you read that right, Publix has low prices...even lower than Walmart!  The trick to getting a bargain at Publix is stocking up when they put the items your family uses on a Buy One, Get One Free sale and combining that sale price with a coupon match-up.

A few other deals to stretch your grocery budget at Publix...

*Publix doubles coupons with a value of 50 cents or less every day.  A 50 cent coupon is worth a dollar at Publix!

*Publix will let you use a Publix store coupon (one with an LU#) and a manufacturers coupon together on the same item!

*Publix takes competitor coupons!  You will need to check with your individual store to determine who they consider to be a competitor, as it varies by location.  You can also use a competitor coupon and a manufacturer coupon together on the same item (but you can't use a store, manufacturer & competitor coupon together!).

*Publix has a promotion called the Publix Penny Item.  Simply cut the Penny Item coupon from the paper (in the AJC & Gwinnett Daily Post on Thursday...not in the Publix ad, but in the actual newspaper) and take it to the store to find out what the Penny Item is (or check this blog!).  You can get the Penny Item for 1 cent if you make a $10 minimum food purchase, but the Penny Item promotion is only valid on Thursday in Gwinnett.  If you shop in Barrow County, they do the Penny Item promotion on Wednesday because that is the day that the new sale cycle begins.  It is typically a Publix brand item and it is almost always an item that would be excellent for donation to The Pantry.  Common Penny Items are tortilla chips, juice, paper towels, toilet paper, coffee, cereal, vanilla wafers, saltine crackers and pasta sauce.

*Another promotion that Publix does is Buy Theirs, Get Ours Free.  To encourage people to try Publix's house brand, Publix will give you their equivalent when you buy the national brand.  The best part is, you can use coupons on the national brands (and I've even had a few Publis store coupon match-ups too!).  Even if you are loyal to a particular brand, this is a great way to buy the brand your family prefers and donate a high-quality Publix brand item to The Pantry.

Thank you to SouthernSavers for the list of deals & coupon match-ups!

*Note some prices may be different from store-to-store.  I use the deal match-ups from Southern Savers, which uses the Columbia, SC ad.  Their prices are sometimes higher or lower than our Atlanta region prices.
